FAQ - Computer Labs

The printer doesn't work, help!

Try reading through the help available at the Printing Help Page

My print job didn't finish, will I get charged for paper usage

You are only charged for the actual sheets that come out of the paper. If you send a print job that will use 100 sheets but only 10 sheets come out then you are only charged for 10 sheets of quota.

How can I get more paper added to my print quota

On very rare occasions some students need to print a *lot*. To cover the cost of toner and paper we find that it is fair to ask residents to bring in 2 reams of paper and we will credit their account for 1 ream of quota (equivalent to 500 sheets).

Who is allowed to use the computer labs

Only residents of Campus Housing may use the computer labs. Do not allow people into the labs just because they are knocking on the door, in fact - you would be safer not letting strangers into the computer lab.

How do I report a problem in the computer lab

All problems in the computer lab should be reported to Resnet by calling (951) 827-6512, or you can use the Meebo chat interface built into the desktop to send us a quick message regarding any issues.

I need (or want) a program installed in the computer labs, what can I do

We will try to support as many programs that professors require for school work as possible. If there is a program you need access to please let us know. We do not allow or support installing computer games on the lab machines.
