Events

As part of ResLife we also plan and hold events for the residents to build a strong sense of community. Being Resnet, we always host Lan Parties. We partner with RHA and host a Lan Party and a Movie in the same night. We typically draw 200 - 400 people to these events. It requires that we pull 20 computers from our computer labs and spend 8 hours setting them up, hosting the event, and putting the lab back together when we are done.

We partner with Best Buy to provide the prizes for the Lan Party (including items like iPods, gift certificates, and gaming gear) during move-in week. The popularity of these events is becoming a major facet of Resnet and we are considering ways of expanding our support of games.
